Story

Todd and Michelle Nimmer purchased Java Jo’z in July 2020.

Their desire is to create a warm environment the neighborhood goes to talk and get out and enjoy the Waterford community.

Here you’ll find hot drinks, iced and blended drinks, and smoothies. To accompany your drinks, grab a delicious piece of Grebe’s Bakery or a sandwich. We pride ourselves in a comfy, inviting atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating and quality customer service.

Come through the drive-thru or stay and enjoy Java Jo’z inside or outside, near the fireplace or in the back gathering room with a book and a hot drink, blended drink or smoothie.

Java Jo’z is right along the hiking and biking trail. Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee while exploring the 17 miles of Seven Waters Trail that will take you through Waterford, Rochester, Burlington or Norway.

My name is Todd Nimmer, and I am currently co-owner of Java Jo’z Coffee Shop in Waterford, along with my wife, Michelle. Before taking on this endeavor, I was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Max Apparel USA, based out of Waterford, for 10+ years. After that, I served as National Sales Manager at C-Slide, also within the promotional products industry. Due to COVID, I was let go from my position the summer of 2020, since my job focused on trade shows. This led Michelle and I to becoming the current owners of Java Jo’z. We were longtime customers and excited for this opportunity.

I absolutely LOVE what I do everyday because I am living my dream. I get the privilege of making someone’s day better, whether because of a good conversation or simply a laugh. I’m proud that we are able to bring high-end, custom-created coffee and espresso as well as Grebe’s Bakery to a quaint town like Waterford! The best part of owning Java Jo’z is my involvement in a close-knit community and finally getting to be an employer of a talented group of baristas.

My name is Michelle Nimmer. I’m more of the behind-the-scenes part of this team, working on social media, menu creation, and interior design. I currently teach 5th grade full-time in Beloit. I am finishing up my licensing program for regular education after teaching special education for the last 18 years. I also work part-time as a tutor and a receptionist at a spa. I’ve always been a fan of blended drinks and never really ventured over to the dark side…coffee. However, since taking over ownership of Java Jo’z, the taste of our rich espresso has grown on me. My favorite part of owning a coffee shop is the sense of comfort and “home” our cafe creates but especially the experience of enjoying simply amazing drinks.
